CASP Postgraduate Discussion Group

The CASP postgraduate discussion group is a forum run by research postgraduate students, open to both the postgraduate community and members of staff. The purpose of the group is to discuss common themes, concepts and theoretical approaches arising from students’ particular research interests. Recent topics have included ‘participation’, ‘accountability’, the ‘state’, and ‘civil society’. The group aims to help students’ broader understanding of these concepts through peer discussion, as well as reflect on how students apply these in their individual research projects.

The group aims to meet every 3 weeks on Thursday lunchtimes, and students are encouraged to suggest topics of interest for each meeting. One or two texts are selected and circulated before the meeting to guide and stimulate discussion.
