This unit provides the student with a detailed knowledge and practical understanding of how to manage the lifestyles of sports performers from a range of performance perspectives.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this unit students will be able to:
* Analyse the requirements / issues that impact on a performance athlete's lifestyle e.g. athlete responsibility;
* Understand the range of support services available to the performance athlete;
* Investigate the importance of communication between key stakeholders within the sports sector;
* Analyse National and International approaches to lifestyle management for performance athletes;
* Develop effective intervention strategies to cope with positive / negative transitions in sport.

Skills:
This unit will include the following skills;
* The assessment and facilitation of written communication. A/F
* The Teaching, facilitation of oral communication skills. T/F/A
* The ability to work independently, part of a team, without close supervision or guidance.
* Ability to produce work to agreed specifications and deadlines.
* Ability to apply theory into practice.

Factors affecting the performance and management of elite performers.
Lifestyle management approaches: National and International programmes.
Transitions in sport and intervention strategies.
The role of National and International sporting organisations.
