This unit aims to provide the student with the skills and opportunity to:
* create a range of ideas for a comprehensive project;
* present ideas in a coherent and convincing way to an approval panel;
* demonstrate that the project presented has the potential for considered and sustainable development;
* demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the resources issues involved with the proposed products and show a considered awareness of its feasibility.

Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the unit the student should be able to:
* present structured and coherent arguments for the development of the media or multimedia product;
* produce a thoughtful, well-documented and creative pitch to an approval panel;
* demonstrate a good understanding of the resource implications of the proposed project.

Content:

* Conducting background research into ideas and using this research to inform an interesting and creative proposal for a media product.
* Developing proposal into a thoughtful and considered presentation that can be given serious consideration by an approval panel.
* Presenting the proposal to an approval panel as a comprehensive creative pitch: the student will be expected to be able to talk about the final idea in detail and answer searching questions put to them by the approval panel. The presentation should be of a high quality, with supporting documentation and using IT as appropriate. Students will be expected to give details of the resource implications of the proposed project including the basic budget implications.
