The aim of this module is to introduce students to the individual requirements of starting a small motorsport specific business. Elements ranging from becoming a new manager, through to employing people for the first time, and setting up a legal structure will be covered in this comprehensive module.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of a unit a student will be able to:
* Understand and evaluate the theory behind the formation of a new business, and undertake start up activities such as market research, writing business proposals and setting up a legal structure for the new business.
* Understand and evaluate the range of financial and legal considerations that need to be understood to successfully start / run a small business.
* Understand and evaluate the range of resources needed, to include Human Resources requirements for a new business to function correctly.
* Understand and analyse the day to day running of a business in its first year, to include management activities such as Marketing, logistics, and other day to day business activities.
