Leading to the award of DOCTOR OF ENGINEERING

Mode of attendance: Full-time

Students on this programme may study units from both the University of Bath and Bournemouth University and must accumulate at least 48 credits (and up to 60 credits) from the units offered by both universities.

The lists below show units offered on this programme by the University of Bath. A list of units offered by Bournemouth University can be found at http://www.digital-entertainment.org/info-applicants.html.

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) will be approved following procedures set out in the APL guidelines for the CDE via the APL template. APEL may also be granted according to the Centre's guidelines. The QA45 Code of Practice applies.

The RE must achieve the requirements for taught credit set out in their Personal Development Profile in order to progress to the final two years of the programme.

48 credits to be achieved by end of Year 2, with retrieval if needed. The pass mark and methods of retrieval are determined by the institutional unit provider. A Progression document of 6000- 10,000 words will be evaluated, primarily to determine preparedness for remaining 2 years of research. An RE who fails to achieve the progression requirements may be required to leave the EngD programme. Should an RE fail to make progress, they may be offered the opportunity to transfer onto another programme of study.
