| Description:
| Aims: This Unit teaches the basic tasks of group facilitation. It aims to introduce the student to Yalom's model of Interpersonal Group Therapy, show the applicability of this model to addictions treatment, compare this model with other group approaches and review evidence evaluating it. Learning Outcomes: At the end of this Unit, students will be able to: * Describe the relevance of Yalom's model of group therapy to the treatment of addiction. * Understand the modifications needed to use this model with clients with addiction problems. * Understand the key evidence supporting the use of group therapy in addictions treatment * Demonstrate basic skills of a group facilitator in the workplace.
