Further information on descriptions Description: Aims:
1. The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to the study of organisations by using a macro perspective.
2. The course aims to develop a capacity for the critical analysis of organisational design, organisational performance and organisational change. The goal is to indicate students the ways that might help us to understand how organisations function and what different theories and concepts might imply for organisations during their life span.

Learning Outcomes:
After taking this course, students will have a better understanding of the term 'organisation'. While the students will come with a basic knowledge of this term, this course aims to study the contingencies - such as structure, strategy, size, external environment - and events that impact organisations during their life span such as growth, downsizing, forming alliances etc. We will also focus on how organisational design and structure might play a role in the life span of an organisation when an organisation faces the above-mentioned issues and factors such as change, decline etc. Lastly, how these issues and factors impact organisational outcomes such as performance and effectiveness will be discussed.
