This two and a half day course will introduce students to the main concepts of sustainability in business. The course begins with basic sustainability principles and a history of sustainability in organizations. It will cover basic sustainability tools, metrics, measurements and sustainability reporting standards. In addition, the course will cover constraints and opportunities for greater sustainability in business. Finally, the course will address why organizations might want to engage with a sustainability strategy and where to begin.

Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this module students will possess tools and resources so that they will be able to:
* Understand sustainability through a business lens;
* Recognize several sustainability tools, metrics and measurements;
* Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of firm strategy to determine focal points for shifts towards greater sustainability;
* Be familiar with international standard sustainability reporting guidelines (from the Global Reporting Initiative);
* Begin an assessment of organizational sustainability.
