Further information on descriptions Description: Aims:
To provide an introduction to pharmacy communication skills.
To introduce the MPharm student to medicines legislation.

Learning Outcomes:
After taking this unit the student should:
1) be able to perform pharmaceutical calculations;
2) be able to communicate and counsel patients on OTC medication and the use of different pharmaceutical dosage forms.
3) be able to communicate with prescribers.
4) have a good understanding of pharmaceutical legislation and be able to scrutinise NHS and private prescriptions for basic legal errors under current legislation.
