The aim of this unit is to allow the student to develop professional skills in an appropriate industrial, commercial or academic setting related to the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the unit the student should be able to:
1. Time manage and take responsibility for a task within an agreed work plan.
2. Demonstrate competency in a range of professional skills including effective oral and written communication and others appropriate to the placement such as effective team work, generation of original data and/or appropriate data analysis and problem solving.
3. Perform specialist tasks within a pharmaceutical-related setting.
4. Reflect on personal goals set and critically evaluate achievements during the placement (see POLO forms).

Content:
The placement will be undertaken in approved premises of the Placement Provider in the UK or overseas. The Placement providers in biopharmaceutical-related establishments including commercial, academic and research institutes. The placement year will be assessed as a written placement report and an oral presentation.
