Further information on descriptions Description: Aims:
This unit aims to develop students' understanding of key theories and concepts to underpin studies of children¿s use of technology in contemporary society.
It aims to engage students in critical evaluation and reflection on the key theories and contexts and appreciation of the important role that technology has on learning and social development.

Learning Outcomes:
At the completion of this unit the student should be able to:
* Critically evaluate children¿s use of technology in education and society.
* Critically apply relevant learning, developmental psychology and sociology of education theories to children and young people's use of technology.
* Critically evaluate the ICT policy and curriculum and other relevant policy initiatives
* Critically evaluate the potential of new technology in relation to children with learning and developmental disorders
* Design and/or produce learning or professional resources mediated by digital media on the social media platform (e-CV, e-portfolio).

* Social media and its impact on children¿s academic and social development
* Mobile learning and children
* New technology in relation to children with learning and developmental disorders.
