To develop skills in planning, undertaking and presenting a scientific investigation in applied mathematics at MSc level.

Learning Outcomes:
After taking this course the student should be able to access and critically evaluate literature, undertake research at MSc level, interpret the results and report the outcome.

Content:
All stages are undertaken under the guidance of an academic supervisor. The planning stage involves defining the problem and devising an appropriate strategy to investigate it within constraints of time and resources. Included are information literacy and presentation skills.
