Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the unit the student will be able:

Content:
The unit will be run over the first 5 weeks of Semester 1 and a one-week block in week six of Semester One. It has two major aims:
* To prepare students for essay writing and successful completion of post-graduate study in international development and public policy.
* To develop students¿ skills to enable them to increase their effectiveness as professionals in international development and policy.
The structure will be as follows:
* Part 1 (5 weeks): Finding and reviewing literature
* Constructing a structured argument: Communicating a message
* Part 2 (week long): Group work and presentations:
