To embed a full understanding of the regulatory and political context under which buildings are constructed both now and in the future.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this unit, students should be able to:
* Distinguish between primary regulatory/certification criteria, and secondary criteria.
* Improve existing traditional design strategies to meet or exceed L-C certification levels and targets.
* Develop alternative novel strategies and details to meet current and future regulatory targets.

Skills:

* Full understanding Regulations and L-C certification methods and how they may be mapped to modern building design processes. (T, F, A)
* Develop a critical awareness of how selected design solutions may meet or exceed the Building Regulations. (T, F, A)
* Ability to devise constructions that meet regulations by alternative means. (T, F, A)
