The aim of this unit is to introduce participants to fundamental ideas and topics to consider as they plan and evaluate their teaching and student support, and to aid them in their reflective professional development cycle.

Learning Outcomes:
On Successful completion of this unit, participants will have demonstrated:
* Professional, and personal development informed by appropriate theoretical models, frameworks and principles to support academic practice.
* Critical reflection of their own teaching practice and that of others.
* The requirements for Associate Fellow status of the Higher Education Academy, according to the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).
