The aim of this unit is to introduce the participants to a range of models, tools and considerations for curriculum design and development so that they can evaluate and plan developments for their own units in line with the university and national context.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this unit, participants will have demonstrated:
* Understanding of the wider context in which academic practice operates and the implications of this context for practice.
* Critical analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness and suitability of teaching and learning for units, including the consideration of alternative learning designs.
* When combined with the learning outcomes of ED50498: Teaching and Supporting Learning, the requirements for Fellow status of the Higher Education Academy, according to the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).
