To develop learning beyond the academic curriculum, to provide opportunities for the personal assessment of key skills associated with transferability post-graduation and to promote the acquisition of knowledge and key skills that support the understanding of further academic subjects.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this unit a student will be able to:
1. Analyse individual strengths and weaknesses through the implementation of a skills audit, and as a result distinguish key areas that require development within the context of continuing professional development.
2. Demonstrate competence in a range of professional skills appropriate to a specific employment sector.
3. Demonstrate detailed knowledge of key transferable skills that relate to a specific employment placement.
4. Analyse relevant concepts associated with personal curriculum vitae development, generic skill development and interview technique to provide a broader understanding of key requirements within the employment sector.

* Introduction and application of the key concepts associated with continuing professional development.
* The evaluation of key skills required within the employment sector highlighting individual strengths and weaknesses.
* Skills development session, skills audit identifying strengths and weaknesses for each individual student.

* Personal CV development.
