Further information on descriptions Description: Aims:
To provide students with an introduction to the legal system in Spain which governs the relationship between the state and its citizens with particular emphasis on the implications of the constitutional framework in the business environment; and to outline the legal framework within which firms in Spain operate in specific domains.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
* show an understanding of the basic principles of the Spanish legal system and Spanish business law;
* show understanding and appropriate use of basic Spanish legal terminology.

Skills:
Skills in critical analysis, conceptual thinking, precision in the use of written and spoken language, exercise of independent judgement, reasoned argument, teamwork, and the planning/conduct/reporting of non-quantitative research are taught and assessed in this unit. Language skills are developed in this unit.

Content:

* Introduction to the Spanish legal system and the Constitution.
* Introduction to the principles of Spanish Business Law (Employment Law, Company Law etc).
* Analysis of socio-legal case studies (environment, unions).
The unit is taught in Spanish.
