Foundation Degree in Funeral Services

Our Foundation Degree in Funeral Services began in September 2008. The majority of the units are available as Continuing Professional Development (CPD), or you can take the HE Cert which is the equivalent of the first year of full time study. There are plans to design an Honours year which will allow students to top up their qualification to a BSc, this should be available from September 2012.

PhD study

Since opening in 2005, the Centre for Death & Society has seen two of its PhD students graduate and become associates of the Centre. A number of other students are working with members of the Centre and hope to graduate over the next few years. If you are interested in studying for a PhD at Bath, please visit the PhD section.

In-service training

Together with our network organisations we are able to provide in-service training for those working in professional services and continuing education for community groups, promoting participation for all communities in their own end-of-life care, decision-making, social preferences and service delivery needs. Many of our staff and associates are available for lectures, seminars, discussion panels, policy discussions, workshops, training sessions and keynote speeches. We can also act as independent consultants and academic advisors if you are designing a new programme, or as external examiners to exising programmes.
