Publications

Many people coming to the field of death and dying are not initially familiar with many of the literature available to them. Although it is a growing field, until this point in time, many academics working and writing in this area have felt fairly isolated and books that have been published often fall within different catagories, depending on which institution and school they belong to.

Here, we have a selection of highlights from the members of CDAS, usually books, and there are links directly to the publishers. Our CDAS publications pages list all publications from all CDAS members, associates and PhD students by year, and the Journals page has a selection which may be useful to students and academics in this area, including Mortality, the office of which is hosted within CDAS.

There are of course, many more publications which we are unable to list here, but if you are a student starting out in this area, please get in touch as we will be able to point you in the right direction.

Latest news

Christine Valentine and Kate Woodthorpe have just signed a contract with Sage publications to co-author a death studies text book. Entitled, ‘Death and Society: a Global Introduction’, this book will provide an international and comprehensive perspective on death in the twenty first century.
