Transmission Electron Microscope

High-resolution imaging of thin samples or small particles.

The JEOL JEM1200 is a transmission electron microscope with an operating voltage ranging from 40 to 120 keV. It is used by researchers from the science faculty for studies in neuroscience and cell biology in addition to plant virus investigations by undergraduate project students. Also by researchers of the engineering faculty for high resolution imaging of thin metal samples, the characterization of particles and selected-area diffraction. The instrument possesses:

- A Gatan Dualvision digital camera.

- A high-resolution scanning facility for STEM & SEM

- An Oxford Instruments INCA x-sight x-ray detector

- Oxford Instruments INCA x-ray analysis software
