Book Launch Event

The School of Management’s Centre for International Business & Management(CIBAM) and the Centre for Research in Advertising & Consumption (CRiAC) in conjunction with the University’s Institute for Policy Research (IPR) are hosting a Book Launch event.

Professor Michael Beverland, Director of the Centre for Research in Advertising & Consumption, and Dr Phil Tomlinson, Associate Professor in Business Economics and member of the Centre for International Business & Management will introduce their new books which share the common themes of industrial policy and manufacturing in Britain.

Phil Tomlinson advises MPs on green car manufacturing

Dr Phil Tomlinson, an expert on industrial policy from our School of Management, has presented policy proposals to MPs in the All-Party Manufacturing Group and industry representatives on how UK manufacturing can capitalise on Low Carbon Vehicles (LCVs).

Mr Ian Hay Davison, former Chief Executive of Lloyd's, former Chairman of the Independent Newspaper, and served on several other Commercial Boards (Midland Bank, Morgan Grenfell Asset Management, Storehouse, Credit Lyonnais Capital Markets, Cadbury Schweppes and Chloride) and Voluntary Organisations (eg Royal Opera House, Victoria and Albert Museum and Sadler's Wells) talks about role and duties of a board of directors.

Mr Philip Oliver from the Corporate Strategy and Governance team based in MOD Main Building, London talks about corporate governance of public spending.
