Students share placement experiences
On Thursday 8 November the Department of Chemical Engineering held an exhibition of placement posters by students. The event was an opportunity for returning placement students to share their experiences of working in industry with their tutors and academics. As well as this, it gave the returners an opportunity for to talk to second and third year undergraduates considering taking a placement about the broad range of industries and companies we work with.
The display of over 40 posters demonstrated the variety of placement opportunities available during 2010-2011. The posters aimed to illustrate what the students experienced during their placement year, from training and projects to what they gained personally and professionally from the opportunity.
This event gave recognition to a year of hard work and the prize for the best poster will be awarded at the Chemical Engineering Ball in the new year.
