Successful webinar discusses nuclear power as a circular chem eng journey
The Institute of Chemical Engineers
(IChemE), Atkins Global, and the Department of Chemical Engineering successfully delivered the
first 2013 Nuclear Technology Special Interest Group meeting at the beginning of March.
The well-attended event is the first on a series of four national meetings taking place in top-research UK universities.
The meeting was part
of a series of interactive classroom-based webinars held around the UK. The presentation and event
aimed to give an overview of the nuclear sector, its history, and the importance of chemical
engineers, promoting the nuclear industry as a future career path. The meeting also offered a good
opportunity for researchers to network with local nuclear professionals.
Kevin McMullan from Atkins Global said: “I am delighted that we more than achieved the original aims of the event."
Further meetings will take place in the following universities:
- University of Cambridge
- Newcastle University
- University of Birmingham
