Prof Michael Whittlesey
Profile
Our interests lie in the organometallic and coordination chemistry of late transition metals. We have a particular focus on bond activation reactions (e.g. C-H activation) in both stoichiometric and catalytic processes.
We employ a combination of Schlenk, vacuum line and glove box techniques for the manipulation of air and water sensitive compounds, replying heavily on multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography for characterisation
