Phil Willis appointed to chair the Radio Society of Great Britain's Training and Education Committee

Professor Phil Willis has been appointed to chair the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB)’s Training and Education Committee.

Phil WillisThe RSGB is the national organisation supporting the interests of radio amateurs. It also has a key role in working with similar national bodies around the world, providing authoritative input to the regulator Ofcom and to other stakeholders.

The Training and Education Committee has a wide range of activities, including classroom support for children in schools, training tutors for the amateur radio examinations and public engagement. In 2014 two of many such events were held in Bath, one as part of Bath Taps Into Science and one as part of the outreach programme of the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution.

Phil will also be using his University of Bath experience to lead the RSGB input to a comprehensive revision of the three progressive examinations used to train all UK radio amateurs.
