Welcome to all our new students in the Department for Health.
Congratulations on securing your place to study at the University of Bath; I wish you continued academic success during your next few years with us!
Your first weeks at university are an important time academically and socially. An induction schedule has been planned for you, which will give you the opportunity to:
- meet other students on your programme
- learn more about studying here
- meet key members of staff in the department
If you have a disability or learning support need, it is important that you contact the Disability Service before starting your studies with us, even if you have already declared this on your UCAS application. Additional support and any alternative exam arrangements can take time to arrange so do contact them as early as possible to ensure you get the support you may be entitled to.
The UK Department of Health advises all first year undergraduate students, of any age, to be vaccinated against the C strains of meningococcal meningitis. Although meningitis is quite rare, it is a very serious condition and can be fatal. You should have been vaccinated against meningitis at least two weeks before arriving at university.
You will also have received some more detailed information from your Director of Studies before you arrived.
I look forward to meeting you at the end of September.
Dr Anthony Bush
Director of Learning and Teaching (Department for Health)
