Students living in University accommodation

If you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student and live in University accommodation, on or off campus, you are not permitted to park a motor vehicle:

  • on University property
  • on public roads within the city of Bath boundaries

We may grant permits for exceptional circumstances, like medical conditions. Apply by email to the Security management team at security-managers@lists.bath.ac.uk

Undergraduate students living within the BA1 or BA2 postcodes

If you are an undergraduate student and live within the BA1 or BA2 postcode areas, you cannot apply for a University parking permit.

We may grant permits for exceptional circumstances, like medical conditions. Apply by email to the Security management team at security-managers@lists.bath.ac.uk

Undergraduate students living outside of the BA1 or BA2 postcodes

If you are an undergraduate student and live outside the BA1 or BA2 postcode areas, you can apply for a University parking permit.

You must be able to present:

  • your vehicle insurance documents, including certificate of motor insurance
  • some proof of address that verifies your term-time residence, like a recent home utility bill or signed rental agreement

If you live with family members and cannot provide a rental agreement or utility bill, you should provide a letter written by the homeowner that confirms you are living with them during term-time.

We will also ask for up-to-date documentation if you want to renew or change the vehicle registered on your permit.

Postgraduate students living in private accommodation

If you are a postgraduate student and live in private accommodation, you can apply for a parking permit.

You must provide a valid certificate of motor insurance. We will also ask for this certificate if you want to change the vehicle registered on your permit.
