How to apply
For a specific course
If you have found a course you would like to apply for, please follow the instructions indicated on the individual course pages. You will be directed to the relevant department or given instructions on how to apply on-line.
The majority of courses will be open access and there will be no formal entry criteria. For some courses you may be required to provide additional information or documentation, such as proof of qualifications, before your place on the course can be confirmed. Where this is necessary, this will be clearly indicated in the course information.
For a Professional Development award
If you would like to apply for a Professional Development award, please contact us on cpd@bath.ac.uk. We offer Professional Development awards at a range of levels from Certificate of Higher Education through to Masters Degree.
In negotiating a Professional Development award, you will be asked to complete a Learning Contract outlining the units you intend to take and their coherence in relation to your professional context. The learning contract represents the ‘Programme’ you will follow in order to gain the specified award and will be reviewed on a regular basis.
Students applying for a Professional Development award will be required to demonstrate that they have a proven ability to engage with the level of study. For Masters awards, students will normally require a first degree or equivalent and have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (or evidence of having worked/studied in an English speaking country) where English is not the student’s first language. Admission to a Professional Development award will be subject to the successful negotiation of the learning contract outlining the units that will be taken and receipt of a satisfactory professional reference where appropriate.
Other University of Bath award
You can apply to use the credits gained for continuing professional development towards other University of Bath awards.
