Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by the University
The University of Bath reserves the right to cancel a course if judged appropriate (e.g. minimum number of students required not met). In the event of cancellation by the University, students will be informed as far in advance as possible and will receive a full refund of the course fee. In such circumstances the University will not be liable for any consequential costs that might arise from such cancellation (e.g. for external accommodation or travel).
Cancellation by the Student
If a student, who booked on a CPD course, cannot attend or wishes to cancel for any reason his/her registration on the course, the CPD Support and Development Office refund policy applies as follows:
- If the CPD Support and Development office is notified at least 14 days before the start of the course, the student is entitled to a full refund, minus an administrative fee of £30 and any accommodation or associated costs that may have been incurred by this cancellation;
- If the CPD Support and Development office is notified 7 – 14 days before the start of the course, the student is entitled to 50% refund, minus an administrative fee of £30 and any accommodation or associated costs that may have been incurred by this cancellation;
- If the CPD Support and Development office is notified less than 7 days before the start of the course, the University of Bath will retain the full fee paid by the student.
Where a visa is required for the student to attend a CPD course at the University of Bath, an invitation letter will be sent upon notification from the student to the CPD Officers. It is solely the responsibility of the student to check the procedures and the time scales as regards to acquiring a visa on time. Failure to attend the course due to visa issues is subject to the same cancellation terms as those detailed above.
For students working towards a CPD qualification or CPD award, any withdrawals after the start of the course will be examined on a case-by-case basis.
All refunds will be made to the same bank account as the payment.
Department for Health Distance Learning CPD units:
If you withdraw ahead of the unit start date, you will receive a full refund less an administration fee of £100. No refund will be payable if you withdraw after the unit start date.
IEMA Associate Membership Distance Learning Programme:
If you withdraw ahead of the unit start date, you will receive a full refund less an administration fee of £100. If you withdraw from the course within 2 weeks of the start date, you will be entitled to a 50% refund.
If you withdraw from the course 2 weeks or more after the course start date, the University of Bath will retain the full fee paid.
