Fabrication of photonic crystal fibers

The Centre for Photonics and Photonic Materials (CPPM) at the University of Bath is opening its doors to those who wish to learn the facts about fabrication and physics of photonic crystal fibers, also known as micro-structured fibers.

The intensive 2-week course will be delivered by the Bath group of professors, academics and technicians who are amongst the world leaders in this area and who have contributed to the development of the world's first and best photonic crystal fibers.

The course structure ensures that participants will spend two thirds of their time in the laboratory environment, where they will learn how to make and characterize photonic crystal fibers the Bath way. Tuition will be based on small-group work in our state-of-the-art fabrication facilities.

Open to: Researchers, engineers and PhD students from academia and industry

Course fee: £8,000. This will cover laboratory use, tuition, learning materials, use of the University library, access to sport and computer facilities, comfortable on-campus accommodation, day time meals and the course dinner.
