The Centre for Public Economics
was a research group within the Department of
Economics
and International
Development. It was founded over 25 years ago as the Centre for
Fiscal Studies, and was renamed in 2002 to better reflect
the interests
of the staff and to reflect their widening of scope of interest.
The Centre provided a focus
for the research activities of department members; including
a forum
for the dissemination of new ideas, through seminars and discussion
papers. The Centre has a network of expertise on which to draw
for
consultancy and academic research. It runs short courses in its
areas of expertise.
