About the Centre
Regenerative medicine is an emerging interdisciplinary field of research and clinical applications focused on the repair, replacement or regeneration of cells, tissues, or organs. It uses a combination of approaches including soluble molecules, gene therapy, stem cell transplantation, tissue engineering, and the reprogramming of cell and tissue types.
The Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) at the University of Bath is an interdepartmental network set up to enable work on regenerative medicine to be underpinned by an understanding of normal developmental mechanisms. It brings together groups working on developmental biology, stem cell biology, physiology and tissue engineering in the Departments of Biology & Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Health, Mechanical Engineering and Pharmacy & Pharmacology.
The Bath CRM aspires to be a premier UK focus for research, training and technology transfer in regenerative medicine.
