Martin Wilkinson was one of the first graduates in Building Environmental Engineering from the University of Bath and is committed to the joint education for Architectural and Engineering Students. After graduating from Bath he spent some time at the Building Research Station and then three years in design consultancies before returning to the University of Bath as a lecturer.

His early research work revolved around the lighting of deep plan classrooms and much of his subsequent work has been related to the combined use of natural and electric lighting.

Recently his teaching interests have broadened and he now deals will all aspects of building environmental engineering. As well as undergraduate teaching he also lectures on the MSc in facade engineering.
