Strengthening links with South Korean university
We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies (CSCT) and the Global E 3 Institute at Yonsei University, the oldest private university in South Korea.
The agreement will strengthen existing ties between the two research centres: Yonsei student Suhyun Yoo is currently visiting us, supported by a Bath Global Partner Scholarship, while our Doctoral Training Centre student Adam Jackson has just returned from a joint workshop in Seoul.
Commenting on the new Memorandum of Understanding, the Bath co-ordinator Dr Aron Walsh said: “The goals of Bath and Yonsei in sustainable science and engineering are clearly aligned. There is an exciting opportunity to perform internationally leading research.”
Yonsei co-ordinator Professor Aloysius Soon said: “I am very excited! This agreement is a natural consequence of our on-going research collaboration and exchanges since late 2010. It serves to further strengthen the Bath-Yonsei bond in research and education.”
Professor Matthew Davidson , Director of our Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies, said: “Developing new sustainable chemical technologies in areas of societal importance such as energy, water, healthcare and manufacturing is a global challenge that can only be met through international cooperation.
