Dr Valeska Ting, Prize Research Fellow in Smart Nanomaterials from our Department of Chemical Engineering struck gold for the excellence of her engineering research into hydrogen storage materials walking away with a £3,000 prize. A collaborative project, focussed on developing improved materials for energy storage devices, has begun in the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies at the University of Bath. The project is funded via the Technology Strategy Board’s “Technology Inspired Innovation” Collaborative R&D programme, which provides the vehicle for project partners MAST Carbon, Johnson Matthey, Sharp Laboratories of Europe and Axeon to develop and apply “Innovative nanoporous carbon materials for energy storage applications”. read more »

Dr. Aron Walsh has been awarded a £100,000 research grant from the Royal Society to develop an "Integrated Approach for the Design and Optimisation of Photoactive Materials".
