4 December 2012

The Bath Economics Society (TeamBEST) hosted a spectacular event at the historic Pump Rooms & Roman Baths on Tuesday 4 December; the Taysom evening and TeamBEST Ball.

The event lived up to its high profile reputation as a once-in-a-student-lifetime experience, and featured a guest lecture, two-course meal and a ball for society members.

The evening began with a drinks reception next to the fire lit Roman Baths. Guests then moved to the historic Pump Rooms where they ate a delicious meal and heard a talk delivered by Mark Wood (former Editor-in-Chief of Reuters, former Chairman of ITV and current CEO of Future Plc, the UK's largest magazine publisher).

This was followed by live music from the fantastic jazz pianist Tomos; Bath's favourite band Millrine's Magicians and a DJ set.

James Lowe, an undergraduate student at the University of Bath commented: “Mark's talk had me captivated throughout. A truly inspirational speech to round off to a fantastic night. Well done TeamBEST!”

TeamBEST would like to show their greatest appreciation to John Taysom, Ernst & Young and the Department of Economics at the University of Bath, whose support helped make sure that the event really was unforgettable.
