“I chose Economics at Bath because I have always been interested in how the economy functions. Seeing what I learnt being used in the real world allows me to understand the applications of the theory. What drew me to Bath was its emphasis on a placement year. I completed my placement with the Bank of England. It gave me an opportunity to work closely with economists and expand my understanding of how economic policies are developed and what their effects are.
I was able to research the Northern Rock crisis in 2008 and formulate what can be done to prevent such a scenario occurring in the future. This experience has provided me with a taste of what economics is all about.”
