PGCE student to raise money by running four marathons in four days
16 May 2013
Joseph Riley will be completing four marathons in four days for charity.
Joseph Riley, a PGCE in Secondary English Education student, is raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young by completing a 4IN4 marathon mission from July 11-14 2013.
Joe will be running a marathon (26.2 miles) a day, for four days along the South Downs Way, starting in Eastbourne and ending at the Bell Inn, Alresford.
He will be reaching out to the communities along the South Downs Way for their support and possible donations as part of his challenge.
Joe would like runners and cyclists to join him for segments of the four marathon routes, as well as to wait at the finish line for a daily post-race celebration.
He has previously completed a similar challenge whilst teaching abroad in South Korea in 2011 where he ran four marathons in as many days in four different cities.
On Sunday the 14 July Joe’s challenge will tie in with the Red Heart Run event in Alresford; an event created in 2012 in memory of Alex Watley, who passed away from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. All the proceeds from both events go to C.R.Y.
Details of the event and route maps will be updated frequently on the Facebook page and 4IN4 blog. Joe can be contacted by email: 4in4marathon@gmail.com for more information.
