Profile

I am a Senior Lecturer in Education and Head of Department, as well as head of the Department's International Education and Globalisation research cluster and Director of the Department's Centre for the study of Education in an International Context (CEIC).

My research interests focus particularly on international schools and international education, areas in which I teach on the MA in Education and EdD (Doctor of Education). I also supervise PhD and EdD research.

I am Editor of the Journal of Research in International Education, a member of the International Primary Curriculum and International Middle Years Curriculum Advisory Board, and a Trustee of the Alliance for International Education.

I have published many books and articles on international schools and international education, and have undertaken a number of research projets in this area including, recently, a study of the effectivecness of the United World College in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina in meeting its aim of promoting intercultural understanding.
