I am a Professor of International Education and Head of Department.

My research interests focus particularly on international schools and international education, areas in which I teach on the MA International Education and Globalisation, the MA Education and EdD (Doctor of Education). I also supervise PhD and EdD research.

I am Editor of the Journal of Research in International Education, a member of the International Primary Curriculum and International Middle Years Curriculum Advisory Board, and a Trustee of the Alliance for International Education.

I have published many books and articles on international schools and international education, and have led a number of research projects including a study of the effectiveness of the United World College in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina in meeting its aim of promoting intercultural understanding, and, more recently, an IB-funded project investigating the impact on students and communities of the Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
