ELAC is a General English language programme with a focus on aspects of British Culture.

The content of the ELAC programme benefits from the diversity and atmosphere of the academic environment at The University of Bath, a leading university in the UK and internationally .

- New courses every 2 weeks: study for two, four, six or eight weeks
- All classes on the University of Bath campus
- Maximum of 16 students in each group
- End of course attendance Certificate – this certificate also qualifies you for a discount if you register on a later ELC course

Course aims
To develop and improve language and communication skills and to introduce you to various aspects of British culture

Language focus
Classes cover all language skills but with the main focus on speaking and listening.
Speaking and listening skills:
• Language accuracy and fluency
• Practice in both colloquial & more formal,precise English
• Vocabulary development
Language in Use:
The ELAC Projects in the afternoons give you the perfect opportunity to improve all of your language skills and to gain confidence in using English, both in writing and speaking.
You will choose one project theme for each ELAC course you attend, each project providing you with a different experience and with new areas of English.

Teaching
Classes focus on spoken communication, group participation and a wide variety of activities, both in and outside the classroom. We will help you practise and improve your English as much as possible.
The English Language Centre has been delivering first-class English language programmes at the University of Bath for 25 years. Our teachers are highly experienced and very well qualified.
