Cambridge ESOL Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (Delta)
Delta is a widely recognised in-service training course, aimed at practising teachers who wish to upgrade their qualifications and develop their teaching skills.
Delta is now a modular course, divided as follows:
- Module One: Understanding Language Skills for Teaching
- Module Two: Developing Professional Practice
- Module Three: Extending Practice and English Language Teaching Specialisation
You will find full details of the new modular course and a syllabus on the Cambridge ESOL website:
www.cambridgeesol.org/exams/teaching-awards/delta.html
At the English Language Centre in 2012-13 we will be delivering all three modules as an integrated part-time course.
This will take place between 9th October 2012 and 14th May 2013, with a break at Christmas and at Easter. Input will be on Tuesday and observation of your teaching will normally be done with your own classes in your own school.
Delta is a demanding and challenging course with each module consisting of 200 study hours. It requires a high level of commitment. However, it is also very rewarding in terms of teacher development and enhancement of career opportunities within ELT.
MA in TESOL
As well as being a free-standing course, Delta earns you credits towards the University of Bath MA in TESOL. It is possible to study for both awards concurrently.
