MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
This specialist degree, which is taught jointly by the Department of Education and the English Language Centre of the University of Bath, is designed to meet the needs of those wishing to enhance their career prospects in the teaching of English as a second, foreign or additional language.
Students graduating with the MA in TESOL will be able to:
- demonstrate critical awareness of recent theories and practical innovations in the teaching of English as a foreign, second or additional language;
- demonstrate understanding of the issues involved in teaching English in a variety of contexts;
- critically analyse the role of English as an international language;
- contribute professionally to the world of TESOL.
Students can either take five modules in core areas of TESOL or three modules plus the DELTA.
