Pre-sessional courses
These BALEAP accredited academic English courses are for students who have a place at the University of Bath or another university, or who are considering studying at a higher level in Britain. The courses provide you with the English and study skills that you need to complete your academic studies successfully.
Please note that the courses do not automatically guarantee a place on a degree course at the University of Bath.
Course Overview
- Five entry points: October, January, April, July and August (see entry requirements)
- An average of 20 hours tuition per week
- Small class sizes
- Individualised support throughout the course via weekly tutorials
- Regular guest lecturers, visiting speakers or visits
- Use of authentic materials
- Guided self-study using facilities such as the library, Self Access Language Centre (SALC), and language learning software
- Access to computer work stations throughout the university; use of high speed campus network including Resnet
- Access to sports and social facilities
- A varied social programme which includes excursions to popular tourist locations and attractions such as Stonehenge, Cardiff Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon
