This page displays total electron content (TEC) in the ionosphere over Europe, as calculated from GPS data, using the MIDAS tomographic algorithm. It is updated continuously (with a lag of about half an hour, to allow for data acquisition and processing). See the space weather page for more information about the science behind these reconstructions. Data is given in standard TEC units, equivalent to 1016 electrons per square meter. Requires HTML5 Canvas support (e.g. Firefox 3.5 or higher, Internet Explorer 9 or higher, or Chrome 7 or higher). See also the 3D version. View time (UTC)Direct linkLink to map at current time.
