PhD student meets MPs at the Parliamentary Space Committee
PhD student Julian Rose joined Members of Parliament (MPs), academics and leading figures of the UK space industry at the Christmas Parliamentary Space Committee (PSC) meeting at the Houses of Parliament on 16
thDecember 2009. He met with colleagues from Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) and Shrewsbury School to represent the University of Bath and his part in the Polar Orbiting Ionospheric Scintillation Experiment (POISE). As we speak, this experiment is flying onboard a satellite gathering the first few datasets for analysis. Its aim is to monitor and study ionospheric scintillation: a phenomenon that can severely disrupt GPS signals. Julian is working at the University of Bath's Invert Centre for Imaging Science which is lead by Professor Cathryn Mitchell of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering,.
