CPD study
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units are suitable if you have identified a specific area of environmental management in which you would like to increase knowledge and skills.
We offer a range of short courses suitable for all environmental management professionals. The short courses may also provide the opportunity to transfer to the MSc programme at a later stage.

Our Associate Membership programme is accredited by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and prepares you to pass the IEMA exam and gain professional 'AIEMA' status.

*Assessment for the units is through 100% coursework, apart from Sustainable Development and Environmental Impact Assessment, which are 50% coursework and 50% closed book exam, and
Clean Technology 1 which is 50% coursework and 50% open book exam.
Exams are held in March and September each year, in Bath for UK students, and at regional centres for overseas students.

CPD units take approximately 3 months to complete.
Students may also attend our residential schools to deepen their understanding and hear from expert practitioners.
Whilst there are no entry requirements for this programme we recommend for non-native English speakers a minimum standard of 6.5 in the IELTS test (Academic English) or 580 in the TOEFL test or PTE Academic 62 with no less than 59 in any component.
There are four intakes per year for CPD units. Start dates as follows:
- 1 April
- 1 July
- 1 October
- 1 January

Cancellation Policy
If you withdraw from the course before the course start date you will receive a refund, but will need to pay £100 administration fee.
If you withdraw from the course within two weeks of the start date you will receive a 50% refund only.
If you withdraw from the course more than two weeks after the course start date there will be no refund.
