Martin is tutor of the Environmental Audit unit for the MSc in Integrated Environmental Management (by distance learning).
Martin has an MA from the University of Cambridge, and is registered both as a Chartered Chemist and a Chartered Environmentalist. He has over 30 years’ experience in environmental management, working in chemical industry, regulatory authorities, higher education institutions and a number of senior positions within various environmental consultancy practices.
In 1995, Martin became one of the first people in the UK to be accredited with the IEMA Principal Environmental Auditor designation, and has wide experience of conducting environmental due diligence and compliance audits for a variety of industrial and commercial facilities throughout the UK and internationally. As a Helpline Advisor for the DEFRA-sponsored Envirowise Programme, he audited over one hundred and twenty industrial and commercial facilities throughout the East of England, particularly with reference to Environmental Compliance, Waste Minimisation, Resource Reduction and Environmental Management Systems.
Martin is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), a Fellow the Chartered Institution of Water & Environmental Management (FCIWEM) and a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (FIEMA).
