Walking Women

Keep active at lunchtime on Mondays and Thursdays.

The grounds of the Claverton Down campus with stunning views over Bath and its valleys are a wonderful aspect of working at the University.

A lunchtime Women's Walking Group was started in May 2006. The group organises walks around the campus and the local area for staff and postgraduates.

The walks set off from outside the main entrance to the library, on the parade, with the group meeting from around 12.20pm for a prompt start at 12.30pm on Mondays and Thursdays every week - weather permitting!

The Monday walk lasts 45 minutes and the Thursday lasts 30 minutes, they can take use to areas such as Rainbow Woods, Sham Castle the quarry caves and the canal. The walks are fairly fast paced and you can expect  to encounter varied terrain - so walking shoes, trainers or wellie boots are recommended.

Regular walkers say that they find it refreshing and invigorating to take time out from their busy schedules, to get fresh air and enjoyable exercise with friendly conversation along the way.
