Quality Management System - ISO 9001:2015

The Department of Estates operates a quality management system meeting the requirements of the standard ISO 9001:2015. We are regularly audited by the British Standards Institute (BSI).

Our quality management system allows us to capture what we do and don't do well and ensures we learn from our experiences. Feeding back the lessons learned and improving our processes reduces the likelihood of repeating an error and helps us to improve our customer satisfaction.

As far as we know, we were the first Department of Estates in a University to attain this award, which lays foundations for continual improvement.

The Department of Estates originally achieved accreditation to ISO 9001 in November 2013 and has been re-accredited twice since, the last time being in 2017. Our current cirtification runs until November 2019.

We have a set Quality Management Policy and Objectives which detail how we detail what we are striving to achieve and how we monitor our performance.
